Mr. Simon Cho feels optimistic about bringing his 16 years of teaching experience to Keppel. Though he has been a teacher at Mark Keppel since last year, this is his first year in-person. He is excited to restart, and hopes to include more interesting projects and activities online. The pandemic allowed him to see that “there’s so many things you can do with technology.” He currently teaches Integrated Math I for all his classes, and can be seen helping students in his classroom before school starts as well.

Cho graduated from UC Riverside, went to Cal State Los Angeles for teaching credential, and got his Master’s Degree in Education from Point Loma University. He started teaching at Alhambra High School, took two years off in Korea, then taught at Century High School before coming to Mark Keppel. In teaching at Century, a continuation high school, “it changed me as a teacher, it actually made me a better teacher,” Cho stated. “I understand the struggles that they haveā€¦ you can’t teach somebody unless you understand their story.” He brings his lesson to Keppel as he starts his first year here.
