The two waves of underclassmen are not the only ones new to campus after a full year of distance learning. Ms. Yesenia Nungaray, Assistant Principal of Student Support Services, is glad to begin working at Mark Keppel this fall.
Nungaray’s journey started in our very own Alhambra. She was involved in many extracurricular activities since her AUSD enrollment in 5th grade. After graduating, she stayed local at Cal State LA University, where she got her bachelor’s and master’s degree in School Counseling. Several years later, Nungaray had worked as assistant principal in multiple schools with a second master’s degree in Administration.
In her free time, Nungaray loves exploring coffee shops and bookstores; she especially enjoys Vroman’s bookstore in Pasadena. Even if you don’t have recommendations for her, she still encourages students to stop by and say hi.
“I’m looking forward to meet everyone. I want to get to know the culture, the students, the staff, and the community.” Nungaray concludes.
