In an effort to give teachers the recognition they deserve, The Aztec News is introducing Teacher of the Month to highlight an outstanding teacher. This is a way for us to recognize teachers and acknowledge how hard they work for their students every day.

For the month of August, the Teacher of the Month is…Ms. Angel Kuo!!

Angel Kuo has been teaching at MKHS for 9 years, and currently teaches Integrated Math III, AP Computer Science Principles, and AP Computer Science A. Kuo received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Math at UCLA, and also attained a Master of Art in Education from Claremont Graduate University. She also acquired a National Board Certified Teacher Certificate in 2020, after an intense training session. She says that teaching “is always something I wanted to do”.

Despite stating that she is not much of an outdoors person, Kuo has a strong fondness for animals. Some of her current favorites include badgers, bears, and owls. “I also like Pikachu. Does that count?”. Her love for animals is apparent when she revealed that her favorite movie is The Lion King. Ms. Kuo is also a fan of the Harry Potter book series, and she proudly announced that she holds “a Harry Potter movie marathon every winter break.” If she could have any superpower, Kuo says she would want to be invisible. She enjoys eating homemade food and states that her favorite things to eat are dishes her grandfather cooks. If she wins the lottery for a billion dollars, she would love to “travel the world!”

Congratulations, Ms. Kuo!
