Dance Company Spring Concert

On May 12, Mark Keppel’s dance company hosted their 2023 spring dance concert, selling out the entire auditorium. Hundreds of family and friends crowded the entrances as the show began. This year’s theme was “Abra-Cadabra,” it starred the MKHS Dance Team, MKHS All Male Hip Hop, the Dance Arts Department Classes, and a special guest team, Corona High School’s All Male Hip Hop. Since the quarantine lockdown, the dance company has not hosted a guest team for the concerts, so this year was hopefully a sneak peek at what more we can expect in future shows.

The show consisted of various dance styles, including contemporary, urban choreography, jazz, kick, and more. It showed student and professionally choreographed solos, competition routines, and coed performances. The dance team showcased their national championship-winning “Polar Express” kick routine to close off the concert. Finally, each dance class, team, and team leader were presented during the curtain call, and the show came to an end as all the performers took their last bow.
