On May 18, Mark Keppel hosted the “West San Gabriel Valley SELPA Prom.” SELPA stands for Special Education Local Plan Area, and this year was the first year Mark Keppel hosted. Schools from Alhambra, Arcadia, Duarte, El Monte Union, Monrovia, Mountain View, San Gabriel, San Marino, South Pasadena, and Temple City were all invited. The theme was “Welcome to Paradise,” it was organized and decorated by the Mark Keppel ASB, who spent months planning for this event.

The prom was a huge success. District staff, pep teams, and students gathered for lunch, fun, and games. Everyone hit the dance floor and formed conga lines across the gymnasium. The prom had many activities and entertainment that students could enjoy, including a photo booth, craft tables, a candy station, a DJ, and performances from professional Polynesian dancers. ASB was honored to work with Ms. Behrose Foroughi and the other organizers to host this important celebration.
