It’s that time of year again that all Seniors are looking forward to – prom! A few days ago, the Associated Student Body (ASB) announced the theme and location: ‘A Night in New Orleans,’ taking place at the Los Angeles Zoo. Many seniors have voiced various opinions on this year’s theme and location. However, the majority of them are questioning whether or not the location and theme match, compared to last year’s masquerade themed prom at the museum. This sentiment is shared by Jolene Xu, who will be experiencing their last prom this year.
Many students have voiced their opinions, stating that the theme and location of last year’s homecoming was better. The reasons for these opinions range from how last year’s location matched this year’s theme better, how the location seemed odd for a dance, and how the theme seemed to fit a dance better than the previous year. The theme of ‘A Night In New Orleans’ is vague to many.
Xu stated that, “A night in New Orleans is also hard to interpret.” According to online sources, the theme is based on the carnival theme, such as Mardi Gras, with bold, glitter, masks, feathers, and wild patterns. The main colors associated with the theme are purple, green, and gold. However, this is still a very uncertain theme for many students.
We’ll have to wait and see if ASB is able to pull this off!
