While others think of fall, Halloween, and the Pumpkin Spice latte from Starbucks when October starts, baseball fans think of the start of the postseason. More importantly, the beginning of the World Series. Every couple of days, there is at least one baseball game that is being played on every tv there is. Whether it’s the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, or the New York Yankees, everyone is sitting in front of their tv or even sitting at the game. Many of these games have been sold out and even have people waiting as early as 12 in the morning, while the game starts at 5, just to get in. 

The World Series is always full of anticipating games to watch. This year has a lot of baseball fans stressing about who’s going to make it to the end and who’s going to even end up winning. These games are filled with intense and thrilling moments and display each team and players unique skills. There are also very many dramatic comebacks making the fans either upset or happy with their team’s outcome. 

This series started with 12 teams and is now at only 4. It started with the Detroit Tigers, Houston Astros, Cleveland Guardians, Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies, San Diego Padres, and the Atlanta Braves. While also including the Dodgers, Mets, and Yankees. The only ones left now are the Mets, the Dodgers, the Yankees, and the Guardians. The Mets and the Dodgers will play 7 games against each other as well as the Yankees and the Guardians. As of right now, the Dodgers are favored to win because of their recent 9-0 win against the Mets. However, a lot of people all over are wanting the 2 New York teams to make it so that they can play against each other, saying it will be a good matchup. Considering Keppel is closer to Los Angeles, the home of the Dodgers, there are a good chunk of students and teachers that are Dodgers fans. 

Mr. Yee, an English teacher at Mark Keppel High School, states he is very much looking forward to watching the World Series. He wants the Dodgers to win and strongly states that the Dodgers are the hottest and strongest team in the series right now. He says that it is very hard to beat a team that has both going for them at the same time. He tends to keep up with all the scores from the other teams and games but only watches the Dodgers games. 

Jovanni Frescas, a junior at Mark Keppel,  states that he wants the Dodgers to win it all. He believes that the teams that are left are all worthy of being in the LCS but the Yankees are the best in the American League. He also tells us that he has been keeping up with all of the games and is looking forward to the rest of them. 

Mr. Soewardiman, a math teacher at Mark Keppel, claims that he hates all the teams that are left, being born in Boston and a Red Sox fan, but prefers the Mets out of the 4 teams. Considering the Red Sox aren’t in this series, he hasn’t been watching the games but has kind of been keeping up with the scores and who’s been winning. 

Most people are fans of the teams from their hometowns. This is why there are so many Dodger fans in this area and why they are favored by our population to win. However, different people have different opinions all over the world whether they live near their favorite team or not.
