The dry desert air, the fabulous outfits, and the music all around; Coachella is a yearly 3-day music festival that thousands attend. Held in Indio, California, the heart of Coachella Valley, Coachella has been around since 1999 and has become a more and more popular event by the year. The cost of entry had originally been 50 dollars in 1999, and now rising to a starting ticket price of 550 dollars this year. Each year, there are many different music artists that perform, with the lineup changing each year. There are typically about 150 different types of music artists with that amount fluctuating each year depending on the recent trends in music.
The highly anticipated 2025 lineup was released on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. The headliners are Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, and lastly, Travis scott. Coachella is a 2 weekend event, with Lady gaga headlining on April 11 and 18, Green day on the 12 and 19, and Post Malone on the 13 and 20. Travis Scott will have his own stage during the festival. Accompanying them in performing will be artists like Clairo, Megan Thee Stallion, Beabadoobee, The Marias, Glorilla, Djo, Tyla, D4vd, and more.
Bianca Mejia, a sophomore at Mark Keppel High School, says “I don’t really care for this year’s lineup, I don’t listen to Green day or Post Malone. I would only really go for Beabadoobee and Clairo. It seems overly crowded too.”
Lupita Gonzalez, a junior at Mark Keppel High School, says, “If I ever had the money to go to Coachella, I would totally go; this year’s lineup seems pretty good. I like Green Day and The Marias so seeing them live would be really cool. I would be scared to be around the Travis Scott stage, though.”
With many different kinds of mainstream artists and experimental artists, the Coachella 2025 lineup once again shows why the festival remains a huge sold out event.
