The Disney Parades have been around since the 1960s, with many operating for over decades. This time, the MKHS Band and Colorguard had a once in a lifetime experience to participate in a parade. Members from both performance groups worked diligently days before the parade to ensure a wonderful show. The members arrived early on campus around 7 a.m. on Jan. 23, shortly before arriving at Disney around 8 a.m. Minutes before the performance, the group had an opportunity to tour the back rooms at Disneyland. For the performance, the band performed two songs, “A Small World” and “Mickey Mouse March.”
“The experience was really fun and entertaining,” Elaine Chen, a senior in MKHS Colorguard, commented after being asked about her Disney experiences. “We learned a lot of things about how to put smiles on people’s faces. This is definitely a wonderful experience to remember.”
