With the high expectations of many, Snow White, which was a 2025 live-action remake of Snow White, turned out to be an unsatisfying reinvention of the beloved fairy tale. The film, directed by Mare Web, is thought to have some potential, yet , some parts of the film are glorious while others feel cramped and unrealistic, failing to fully capture the charm of the original story.
Disney’s Snow White is visually charming, but it doesn’t live up to expectations. There was a lot of controversy when the characters were casted, and hopefully the casting will be better presented next time. There are many areas where the movie can be improved, such as the seven dwarfs being made of computer special effects. On the big screen, they are more like a distraction than a charming whole.
Although Snow White has some touching moments and wonderful performances, it ultimately cannot escape the shadow of its controversial and animated predecessor. It is a worthwhile and occasionally magical update, but it is far from the fairy tale re-creation effect it should have achieved.

Many people who watched the movie and saw the interviews that Rachael Zegler’s played in saw how she changed the entirety of Snow White. In one of her interviews with her other casting members she said that she didn’t see herself as playing Snow White or not liking the character as much and sees the character as needing a man to save her but Rachael thinks that the movie didn’t need a man or a prince to come save her.
