On August 29, ASB revealed the homecoming theme at Aztec Court. The Star Wars-inspired theme was revealed to be “Dancing Across the Galaxy.” Here are some of the opinions from the students at Mark Keppel on the theme reveal.
“This theme was unexpected. A Star Wars theme is rare to see. I am curious on how ASB will pull it off. I think the venue will be most on-theme. I predict it will include posters of iconic characters and objects. I would have to wait and see how the homecoming rally would look like,” Ollijah Bangit, a junior at Mark Keppel stated.
Melanie Loh, another junior at Mark Keppel stated, “The theme is very different from what ASB has chosen in the past. I’m unsure of the reason for their choice this year but I’m not complaining. It is a theme with more to work with unlike the others. I’m personally excited to see the decorations because I’m a Star Wars fan myself so I hope it lives up to my expectations and turns out to be a really fun experience.”
“I like it. It’s a pretty cool theme,” Natalie Delgado, a junior at Mark Keppel, stated. She added, “It was pretty different from last year…This year, I did not think about what theme it would be.”
“The thing is that there are a lot of Star Wars lovers in ASB…so, they voted for it,” Chloe Traballo, a senior in ASB at Mark Keppel stated. She added, “I really wanted La La Land because last school year…Spring Fling was supposed to happen and it got canceled because we didn’t have enough tickets.”
The homecoming dance is on September 27 at 7 P.M. to 11 P.M. Get homecoming tickets at Student Bank and dance contracts at Student Support Services. The homecoming game is on September 26 at 7:00 PM at Aztec Stadium.
