The animated film “Goat” was released on Friday, Feb. 13. It tells the story of Will, a determined goat who dreams of succeeding in the sport of basketball. Even though Will is constantly underestimated because of his size and species, he keeps training and pushing himself to prove that he belongs on the court. The movie uses humor, fast-paced sports scenes, and bright animation to show an underdog story about confidence, teamwork, and not giving up.
Jordan Lopez, a sophomore at Mark Keppel High School, said, “The movie was funny and exciting, and I liked how Will didn’t quit even when everyone doubted him.” Jordan said the basketball scenes made the movie more intense and fun to watch.
Regan Kim, a senior at Keppel, focused on the message of the film.
“Even though it’s an animal movie, the story is still relatable,” Regan said. “It shows how believing in yourself and working with others can help you succeed.”
Overall, “Goat” is an entertaining sports movie with animals that sends a strong message about hard work and determination, even if the ending felt a little rushed.
