Track Team Hits the Field Again

The Boys’ and Girls’ Mark Keppel Track & Field team had their season opener against the Schurr High School Track & Field Team on April 21, 2021. Since CIF announced that high schools could resume their sports programs, athletes were eager to compete again.
Despite the best efforts of Mark Keppel’s athletes, including Senior Donovan Underwood who placed first in the boys’ long jump, and Sophomore Brianna Crawford who placed first in the girls’ 100 meter High Hurdles, the Girls’ team lost 15 – 99, while the Boys’ team lost 30 – 84. However, both teams did not let the loss dampen their spirits.
“It’s great to be back.” Coach Rivera commented. “It was especially exciting to see how many athletes were anxious and excited to come back. I am proud to work with coaches and athletes who are dedicated to the sport and the team.”

I was living my day casually and stumbled upon this national treasure of an article. It was such an informative essay that it will be etched across the confines of my memory forever.
